By Kim Hyun-bin

Lamborghini officially launched its super SUV Urus Performante in Korea aiming to raise the bar to new heights for super SUVs in the country.

The launch of the Urus Performante in Korea comes just over a month after its world premiere on Aug. 19. The launch ceremony was held at the Some Gavit ― a cultural complex and architectural landmark on the Han River ― in Seoul, Friday.

“Urus Performante is by no means an ordinary SUV, but sets a new standard by raising the bar of a super SUV,” said Francesco Scardaoni, region director of Lamborghini Asia Pacific, who was in charge of introducing Lamborghini’s new offering.

The Urus, the world’s first super SUV, enjoyed great popularity right after its debut in Korea in 2019, greatly contributing to the increase in sales of Lamborghinis in Korea. A total of 621 Urus vehicles were delivered to Korea from July 2019 to December 2021, accounting for around 75 percent of the total model sales during the same period.

The Urus is known for its powerful performance as a super sports car and its practicality as a daily car. It has established itself as the best-selling model of the Lamborghini brand, according to the company.

The Urus Performante produces 666 horsepower, and can go from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, and takes only 32.9 m to come to a complete stop from a speed of 100 km/h. The top speed is 306 km/h, and a maximum torque is 86.7 kg.m.

Urus Performante provides a total of 4 driving modes so that the driver can feel the powerful driving performance in any extreme driving conditions. In addition to the standard driving modes of Strada, Sport and Corsa, Rally mode has been newly introduced. Rally mode is a dirt track driving mode.

The official sale price of Urus Performante starts at 300 million won ($212,800) (including VAT).
